Best Electric Tongue Jack: Relax While it Does the Heavy Lifting

With a maximum lift height of 32”, the Quick Products JQ-3500 starts our list as one of the best electric tongue jacks if you have a tall towing vehicle. Keep in mind that this Quick Products model only offers a travel height of 18 inches, but with almost 3” of ground clearance, you should never have to worry about the height of your towing vehicle.

The JQ-3500 also comes with a wealth of convenient features including bubble-style leveling for proper hitch connection, an LED light for assistance in the dark, as well as water-resistant electrical components and heavy-duty hardened steel gears.

On the other hand, the JQ-3500 has been known for having some wiring issues which, while not an expensive fix, can be frustrating if it occurs while out on the road. That said, should you run into such issues, this model can also be used manually.

Like many trailer jacks on our list, the Lippert 3500LB offers plenty of power and durability, what sets this model apart is just how easy it is to use.

This power trailer jack provides one of the easiest leveling operations with a rocker switch that levels the jack with the push of a button. It boasts a solid maximum lift height of 28 ¾”, the third-highest on our list, with a traveling height of 18 inches. And if you find yourself needing your jack in the dark, you will appreciate the four LED lights that come with the Lippert, making it the brightest jacking device we came across.

This is also one of the more powerful models that we reviewed with a 30-amp motor and helical-cut gears to help reduce noise and improve operating efficiency.

That said, the Lippert doesn’t have any kind of protection from water, so be sure to keep it covered when used in the rain and stored safely when not in use.

While most electric tongue jacks are suitable for your average towed RV, the UC500010 from Uriah Products with its list-leading 5000 lb weight capacity steps up when you have an extremely heavy RV. This massive weight capacity allows you to raise a maximum RV trailer weight of between 60,000 and 75,000 lb.

The UC500010 has a ball and screw design to reduce the strain of the load on the motor while also reducing friction and increasing lift efficiency. Aside from assisting with the weight load this also creates less operational noise than some other options on our list. 

It also has an oversized footpad to aid with stability, a water-resistant motor, and a one-piece plastic housing for use in any kind of weather.

However, the UC500010 is noted for some quality control issues, though a product that starts well doesn’t seem to suffer durability issues further down the line. 

The RAM EJ-3520 isn’t distinguishable from the other options on our list in any particular category but neither does it fall short in any meaningful way either. 

With a 3500 lb weight capacity, it is at the lower end of the scale as compared to other models in these reviews. However, if this is compatible with your RV weight then you get an excellent maximum lift height of 28 ½” which sits near the top of our list.

Even better, the RAM EJ-3520 doesn’t suffer some of the motor durability concerns we found with other less expensive models thanks to the use of gears made of hardened steel. Of course, if something does happen, most likely due to an electrical issue than anything else, you can always use this tongue jack manually.

One thing you might want to do if you opt for this model is replace the fastening hardware included as it’s not of the best quality. Also, since it is not a standard size electric tongue jack it can be difficult to install since it is a little too big in places.

The Bulldog 500199 is the perfect model for people who like to go RVing off of the beaten track. For one, this model comes with a single-axis leveler that makes it easier to level your jack on uneven ground than bubble-style levelers that are more commonly used.

On top of that, the Bulldog has a solid maximum lift height of 27” which is great when camping in an area that might have drastically different contour levels. This model also offers a bit more lift weight capacity than some of its competitors at 4000 lb.

Even better, this pull pin swivel jack comes equipped with 3 LED lights so there will be no issues with using it when the sun goes down or on those dark overcast days.

The only thing that might irk you about this Bulldog electric trailer jack is the fact that it takes longer to extend to full height than many other options. 

Plenty of electric tongue jacks we reviewed do one or two things exceptionally well, but this jack can do pretty much everything well. This is why we named the Husky HB4500 as our overall winner.

It has the second-largest lift capacity we reviewed at 4500 lb and so can lift a maximum of between 45,000 and 60,000 lb. This massive lifting capacity is down to the motor’s hardened steel gear works combined with the lift’s ball and screw engineering which reduces the load stress and results in a quieter operation.

This camper tongue jack even comes with 3 LED lights for use in dark conditions as well as using a single axis level and a spring-loaded drop leg pull pin design.

The only real downside of the Husky HB4500 is its maximum lift height sits at only 24”, one of the shorter heights on our list. On the other hand, this is also one of the faster RV power jacks that we came across, able to reach its maximum lift stroke in under a minute. 

With a weight capacity rating of 3500 lb, the F2C A-Frame trailer jack is a solid choice for those who don’t have the heaviest of RV trailers. As one of the least expensive models that we found, the F2C is easily our best pick for those on a budget.

What is surprising, despite its low price, is its construction. Made with durable stainless steel and then powder-coated this RV power jack won’t fall prey to rust or corrosion.

It comes with the usual features seen on most jacks such as a bubble-style leveler with a protective cap but also some not seen on other models such as the removable footplate.

One thing to worry about with the F2C jack is the motor which is not known for being the most durable or having the longest lifespan. Also, its maximum lifting height is shorter than most at 18”.

If you are looking for the right balance between specs and cost then this HOTSYSTEM model may be the electric jack for you.

It has a solid lift capacity of 4000 lb and can handle maximum trailer loads between 40,000 and 60,000 lb. A big part of this is due to its powerful 28-amp motor, as well as its durable construction made of galvanized steel and polypropylene.

It has the same convenience features as most other models such as an electric leveling function, a bubble style leveler, and an LED light.

That said, it is reasonably priced with these specs because it takes a bit longer to extend than some of the other models we reviewed. Also, it has one of the shorter maximum lift heights on this list with an 8-inch adjustable drop leg and 14 inches of travel giving a total lift height of only 22”.

The Libra 26042 A-frame jack is built with a seamless one-piece cover, has rainproof buttons, and has a drainage design built-in to the body. To further ensure you never have to worry about water damage it also comes with a waterproof head cover as well.

The Libra jack does not top our list in too many areas, but the inclusion of a 5 ½” footplate helps it remain more stable than some of its competitors throughout the lift. It is also easier to install this model than some of the more expensive options we came across too.

That said, the Libra can be a bit hit or miss in some of the most important areas, namely in the durability department, as both the wiring and the motor are not known for having lengthy lifespans. This jack has a weight capacity of 3,500 lb and only sports a maximum lift of 22”, though it is at least stable when fully extended.
